Michael and I took the red-eye flight from Seattle to Minneapolis that arrived very early Friday, August 27, 1999. We explored Uptown and had dinner with Laurie and Tom on Friday. Saturday started with brunch with Heidi. She joined us for a Minnesota Twins baseball game, a tour of the State Capitol in St. Paul and dinner in Uptown. Sunday was a bit rainy so we stayed inside in downtown Minneapolis by walking through the Skyway system. On Monday, August 30th, Michael and I did the park-and-ride to visit the Minnesota State Fair in St. Paul. It was an adventure including all sorts of fried food and food on sticks. On Tuesday, Michael and I checked out of the hotel and after a quick visit to the Wiseman Art Museum, we spent the day at Valleyfair in Shakopee. We must have picked the best day ever, the weather was beautiful and the amusement park was virtually empty. We never waited in line for anything and went on some of the roller coasters three or four times. On the way out of town, before heading for Duluth, we had some dinner.
